I’ve been getting so many links to this house. And as I have been shirking my daily post duties lately let me make amends and post about it here.
This thing is amazing. As well as being an incredible house this thing can close down and be pretty much impregnable to your average zombie. Huge concrete blocks swing closed to gaurd the windows.
This thing has a drawbridge….. A DRAW BRIDGE. My house only has a brick fence, two Rottweilers, and about a hundred guns. I feel shame. It’s not enough.
More details on this badass zombie fortress.
“…located in Warsaw, Poland… the most distinguishable element of the design is the moveable exterior wall components that allow the house to be completely closed to its environment or open and connected to the rural landscape. while the initial read of the design might seem confining, the house, when in its open state, offers immense transparency while establishing a strong relationship to the site.
…mobile elements include large ‘shutters’ which essentially are hinging exterior walls ranging up to 3.5m in length. a drawbridge from the upper floor provides access to a roof terrace above the swimming pool. all the moveable components are mechanically operated with built-in electronic engines.
…the cuboid building is a concrete monolith, while its non-fixed components are composed of light steel trusses filled with mineral wool to ensure complete insulation. All exterior surfaces are clad with cement-bonded particle boards.”
This is what I call living. Get me a lifetime supply of video games, food, and various individuals to help perpetuate the human species and I think I could hang out here quite comfortably during the coming zombpocalypse.
Too many people have sent me the link to this house to thank individually. Thanks all you. 🙂
The one flaw of that house is the lack of self replenishing food (a farm for example), and giving that come the apocalypse and we get mutating zombies, a few of the strong ones will be enough to break through after about a hour or two.
Maybe there is a way to do a rooftop garden around the solar panels.
Wouldn’t a rooftop garden be exposed to leaping zombies?
I think if you’ve got zombies that could leap on top of that building then your probably doomed anyway. They will just use they’re mighty legs to break the concrete walls down.
It did have a concrete fence/wall around the property. They could probably grow plants outside and be fine against Romero zombies. Crap in “Day of the dead” the zombies were held at bay by a simple chain link fence.
Once again, zombie-proof? Probably. Idiot-proof? Never. It just takes one stupid mistake or person to screw everything up.
If we get Mutator zombies instead of regular Romero zombies then it might not be zombie proof after a few weeks into the outbreak.
In the last Resident Evil movie they had zombies burrowing through concrete. Now that’s what I call a determined zombie.
Now that is the truth. It’s necessary though or the plots of all those zombie movies would be pretty boring. The zombies MUST get in eventually.
Just like how we can’t wait to see how your zombies exploit the open back door to the mall at ZITS HQ.
Me too, me too.
