REC and Quarantine are pretty much the same movie… No really they are basically the same. But it looks like there is going to be quite a difference between the sequels.
To be honest I like the looks of REC 2 though. That is some scary stuff right there. Quarantine 2 looks like “Snakes On A Plane”… with zombies. This is less than awesome.
Which one looks better to you?
Caution if you’re of a delicate sensibility. These clips are delightfully bloody. You have been warned.
I’ve seen Rec and Quarantine. Really liked both…. Like the idea of Rec 2 going back in bang bang boom! I am sure I’ll like that movie… even though Milla is not in it. Not sure I am gonna like Quarantine 2. Beyond that I’ll keep my opinion to myself. I may change my mind after watching it…
I loved both REC and Quarantine. I still want to see REC 2….. Snakes on a… I mean Quarantine 2 I’m not sure I care for that. If it comes on Netflix I’ll probably see it.
From the trailer, Quarantine 2 looks better to me but only because its hinted that they are although outside of the plane later in the story. REC 2 was not that appealing to me. It lokked like lots and lots of shaky cam and jump scares.
On the other hand, so was Quarantine…
Maybe just not my kind of movie.
Of all the places to be stuck on in a ZOMBIE outbreak is a plane.Especialy now with the 911 attacks and you cant even bring a nail fial 🙁
I saw REC first and besides being all in spanish I actually kind of preferred it to quarantine. I don’t know it felt more authentic to me even though they were pretty much the EXACT same movie in different languages. I am guessing maybe I didnt like Quarantine as much because I knew what was going to happen
I saw Quarantine first. I actually really enjoyed it. It scared me, I’ll admit it.
Now I’ve seen REC and I’m a fan. I really want to get a hold of the sequel.
We need more zombie children!
Remember, in a zombie apocalypse, Zombie Children are the future!
Ever since I became a daddy I have a hard time watching anything bad happening to kids. Adults I don’t mind in the slightest, but when kids become zombies or anything else. It’s always a gut punch for me.
Zombie children are suppose to be something that is horrifying and gut wrenching. Its one of those things that people really hate to think about. It adds a lot of shock and horror to it. Using zombie children is kind of a twisted emotion grabber. But honestly… although no one likes to think about it… in a zombie apocalypse there will be the occasional zombie kid. Sadly they will be probably one of the most terrifying for the noobie survivor. No one will want to take a metal baseball bat to a six year old’s head thus giving the zombie the perfect opportunity to sink their teeth into said bleeding heart survivor
shit your right :c i would feel so bad
I try real hard not to think of all the actual horror that would come about with zombies… It ruins the fun of the zombpocalypse.
I guess my perfect zombie apocalypse would have only mean anonymous adults as the victims. All the kids would be magically spirited away to a happy place.
I dont know see me I think its one of those things that makes them the perfect monster. The people who become zombies are not some mindless faceless creature (ok they are mindless but besides the point). They are the people you know, love, and care about out to rip you apart and eat your brains. It makes them truly terrifying and thats the beauty of it. But the mindless slow shambling ones do come with their funny moments too. Let us not forget the shaun of the dead moments in the apocalypse now
That’s the crux of the horror of a zombie apocalypse. Yes, there would be anonymous dead adults, but there would also be your friends and loved ones, eventually. Initially, likely the loved ones that you’ve buried and come to grips with no seeing anymore… suddenly trying to eat your face.
Brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers; that’s the whole reason why zombies are horrific; they are Death, but they are also Us.
Child zombies are just that, plus a punch in the gut to the inner human of us all; we’re genetically programmed to protect children. When I child becomes a deadly threat, it throws our sanity, and even our entire image of ourselves into chaos.
That’s why I love movies like The Omen, Godsend, The Good Son, and other movies where an adorable and cherished child becomes a serious threat to everyone around them. It takes me out of a safe and comfortable place where kids are always safe and innocent, and takes me on a trip of emotional turmoil, just to be resolved safely at the end, as the real world where kids are (mostly) safe and innocent returns.
Likewise, I feel that things involving zombies should be the same. These are the people we love, trying to kill us in a most horrific manner; no longer realizing that they are the people we love. I’ve never gotten into the mindset where I could think of zombies as just “cannon fodder” or Video Game Baddies with no purpose other than for you to destroy (well, not unless they’re cracking one-liners all the time, as per Evil Dead “Deadites”).
I completely understand that “protect your child” thing and I agree. The cold reality of a zombie apocalypse would be truly tragic and horrific on an epic level. Mind numbingly so.
Maybe that’s why I make this comic, perhaps it makes me feel better about something that deep down actually terrifies me to the very core of my being. I mock it so as to keep the true horror of it at bay.
It also could be that I just like drawing zombie boobs. (I really do like drawing zombie boobs)
Way to cope with your inner fears Carter. Heh *jabs with a stick* see its topics like these that we really need to have a forum for. I’m telling you man.Sadly this topic is probably going to get left in the dust once it falls off the first page. Ah well it was a tangent on a movie anyways right?
Aaah you’re right. I’ve got to get that forum up.
This weekend I pray to the dark gods that I’ll have time to finish installing that. 🙂
I can’t let awesomeness like these topics die.
Good carter *pat pat* and if you need mods remember Im still volenteering
Oh I’m happily going to take you up on that. Much appreciated too. 🙂
