I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what my New Year’s Resolutions should be, as one does during this time of the year. And rather than vainly trying to lose weight or be a better person (Who am I kidding this was never going to happen) I’ve decided I need to focus more on doing something with this little webcomic strip.
I started doing this mainly for fun, to keep myself drawing, and finally I just wanted to prove that I could do it, but this year I think I’d like to start attempting to make the transition from a hobbiest to something a little more serious.
I’m not kidding myself, I’m no PVP or Penny Arcade, but I won’t lie, I enjoy making this comic and it would be awesome to make something of a living doing it one day. So my resolutions are more of goals I’d like to set for myself this year.
- Take my schedule way more seriously and eventually get up to four or five comic updates a week.
- Attend three or more conventions this year.
- Expand the site with more reviews, content, and extras.
- Make products that don’t suck and that people would actually want would be nice.
- Create enough content that I could make a respectable book by the end of the year.
- Take over the world, grinding lesser men beneath my booted heal and taking their women, (This one’s optional… sort of)
Anyway these are my goals/resolutions for the site. I’m hoping 2011 is going to be a way more productive and interesting year, because 2010 sucked in no uncertain terms.
Happy New Year,
You know you got the support from everyone who reads your comic.
And don’t forget, when you are grinding lesser men beneath your boot take a moment and listen to the “lamentation of their women.”
Wise and sage advice from Conan
Good luck!
Ah Conan. I loved that movie.
“Conan, what is best in life?”
“To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to here the lamentations of their women”
The best part is hearing Arnold Schwarzeneger try to say it without sounding silly.
Hey! Good comic dude! If you’re going into serious mode you should check out this guy! Scott Johnson at http://frogpants.com. He’s a successful artist and podcaster and he’s local. Check out his site, make friends etc… could be good networking! Good luck!
I’ve been a fan of his for years and I’m already a member of his forum though I haven’t posted for a long time.
I think he only lives about an hour away from my house…. I should start stalking him.
Aside from the excellent comic you seem to have a positive attitude (proven by goal # 6 I think) which may be even more important for greater success. Just do some breathing exercises when memories of the ex-wife pop into your head.
Good advice currently when I think of my ex I lock the doors and curl up into the fetal position for an hour.
The horror….. The horror…..
Great goals to set, but don’t go and kill yourself or else we’ll have to shoot and burn your zombie butt and that is good for no one. Especially you. But still, to try and expand the comic even a little bit this year would be awesome. I now give you many smiley faces for luck. 🙂 8) B) 🙂 🙂 🙂
I’m certainly going to do my best… oh and also my best not to die. That would suck, think of all the video games that would go unplayed by me! Madness.
