What Happens In Innsmouth Stays In Innsmouth.  So Innsmouth is kinda like Vegas only there’s no gambling, brothels, and everything smells like fish.

I realize that today’s comic is going to be a little hard to get unless your a H.P. Lovecraft fan like I am.  However I’m also willing to bet that a higher than average percentage of my readership not only know about lovecraft, but probably also have read the story “A Shadow Over Innsmouth.“  If you haven’t read it then you really should.  It’s a quick read and a good introduction to early American horror writing.

Lovecraftian Horror

Lovecraftian Horror meets the zombie apocalypse in today’s comic. Our zombies invade Innsmouth for some cross genre horror.

For those of you not familiar with Innsmouth, it comes from a story “The Shadow Over Innsmouth” The Novella was written in 1931 by the great and powerful H.P. Lovecraft. It’s always been one of my favorite stories.

Lovecraftian horror holds a special place in my cold dead black heart. It’s not that it’s particularly scary. It’s just that it has these themes and moods to it that really appeal to me when I look for good horror.

I love the ideas about lost crumbling civilizations and unimaginable horrors trying to get back into our world. It has an overpowering theme that mankind is accidental and inconsequential in an vast unfeeling and uncaring universe.

It’s the same feeling I get when I visit my in-laws for the holidays, but with fewer tentacles.

Sorry guys no post today, I’m prepping for HORRORCON 2012

Sorry guys, with all my prep work for Horrorcon 2012 I’m out of time for a comic today.

World Horrorcon 2012

Rest assured though that I’m bringing my camera and I’ll be taking as many pictures as I can for this and posting them up.

When I went to Conduit last year I got hugged by furries which I found utterly hilarious (I choose to believe it wasn’t a dude in that costume)  This year I’m hoping for hugs from goth chicks.  I will also be praying that it won’t be a dude.

Also if my wife is reading this, that is a joke, please don’t punch me.

This should be fun, and I’ll even be on  a panel about why a “Vampire is not your boyfriend.”  Little do they know I will be advocating  a zombie to be your romantic love partner.  Vampires are jerks, zombies… now that’s love.  A zombie after all is a perfectly viable choice for a boyfriend during the apocalypse.  They are loyal, they love you for your body AND your brains.  And let’s be honest, the zombie as the most relentless of the undead can not be beat in the stamina department.  Ladies, dare you say no to their cadaverous charms.

I should think not.

So if you are in the Salt Lake City area this Thursday through Sunday, stop by Horrorcon 2012 and and we can add each other to our stalking lists.  Currently my list of people that I’m stalking is reaching epic proportions, but if you show up and by my swag I’m pretty sure I can bump you higher on the list.

Imagine looking out your window and there’s a slightly pudgy and very naked man staring back at you with high powered binoculars.  That could be your new life!  Also why is he slathering himself with rich creamery butter.

It’s better if you don’t know.

Urine A Lot Of Trouble

Some might argue that the bottle of Urine is half full

It is so very late and I’m am so very sleepy.

Still zombies don’t draw themselves… Can you imagine how awesome that would be if they could. I could have a whole entire cadre of zombies chained to their desks pumping out comic after comic relentlessly forever…… I’m giddy just thinking of it.

That’s not that far off of what zombies are about btw. According to Haitian folklore voodoo priests (Bokors) could turn someone into a zombie and that person would basically end up being slave labor on someone’s plantation after that. Not exactly the George Romero zombie of pop culture.

Instead of eating the tasty flesh of the living you are condemned to work in the fields all day, every day. That sucks.

In my never ending quest to be the biggest zombie nerd of them all I’m currently reading about “The Voodoo” Soon I plan on making a whole bunch of voodoo dolls of people I don’t like and sticking them with needles.

There’s going to be a whole bunch of jerks from my old high school who are going to feel some needle stabbin’s very soon. :)

To hold you over till the comic starts up again on Monday. I found these. I was amused. :)

Zombies can only concentrate on one single thing.

Humans are horribly cruel to the undead. Bad humans, bad! Leave poor zombies alone, till they eat you.

And he finally snaps…. sadly not a real gun, but I’m proud of the zombie taking up fire arms to destroy the oppressive humans.

Hockey…. It has rules?

And finally I’m back and the comic is up. Feels good, feels right.

I’m finally back from my week long family enforced hiatus from the comic. It’s time to redouble my efforts with this webcomic. So today starts a new story arc. For the record I don’t know a damned thing about Hockey other than it is awesome to watch people one skates punch the crap out of each other.

So having my zombie characters around a sport traditionally known for lots of fighting should be pretty entertaining. You know that’s a million dollar idea, why don’t I see more video games about zombie sports. I’ve seen zombie soccer, but that’s it. Bloodbowl comes close I suppose.

Wow it’s late and I’m getting silly. Later.

The “Intense” Search For The Necronomicon

Little known fact: Zombies have terrible peripheral vision

And back to the desperate search for the missing Necronomicon.

I was working my way back to the comic’s main story. I knew I’d get there eventually, but it had been a while since I brought Moon back into things. What better way than to have him being savaged by a book of unfathomable evil. I love the Necronomicon.
