DIY Necronomicon Prop “Evil Dead” Book Of The Dead

I found this pretty cool tutorial about making your very own Necronomicon and had to share.
(This is where I get stupidly defensive as I think this tutorial is pretty cool)
Sure it’s not quite as ambitious as my Super Awesome Necronomicon Tutorial of Evil, but it’s not bad…. I guess. If you don’t want to spend hours and hours obsessing over details till your wife threatens to divorce you and your children forget what you look like. But that’s commitment damn it! I regret nothing!
Yes mine took decidedly longer. But hey, when your dealing with capricious old ones who are very likely to drive you mad and devour you, you should probably be careful about quality control.
(End mock defensiveness)
On the plus side this process will take you a bit less time than mine, and at least your marriage will be saved. Good Job.

The Evil Dead to be rebooted! With Sam Raimi still involved!

Fanboy Gleeeeeeeeee!
You know how I’ve been praying and sacrificing to the dark gods to grant me special favors? Specifically so that they would grant me more Evil Dead movies? No? Seriously…. There was a lot of chanting and junk. I was pretty loud.
Well it payed off because it looks like the oft rumored new Evil Dead movie has some life still left in i. Producer Rob Tapert (of Hercules: The Legendary Journey and Xena: Warrior Princess fame) let slip that he and longtime business partner and friend Sam Raimi could still be set to revisit the Evil Dead franchise.
“It’s possible; we’re looking at a script this month. What’s interesting about Evil Dead is very few people saw it in the format we made it for, which is for the theater. … I think Sam wants to embrace the ultimate experience in grueling terror and see it remade for a proper theatrical experience.”
Now for my money they still need to have the great and powerful Bruce Campbell reprising his role as Ash. Sure the man’s got some years on him, but if he hits the gym I can still see him doing it again. I would love that, and I mean the “Give me some sugar, Baby” kind of love that.
However, if they decide to do a complete reboot and have someone else in that role (blaspheme, I know) who else could they have do it? I honestly can’t picture anyone who could fill Bruce Campbell’s shoes.
I love Bruce Campbell… In a strictly plutonic way, lets not go crazy…. Ah hell if he gave me that “Gimme some sugar line”… I would.

The Evil Dead series is still one of my all time favorite trilogies. Everyone loves “Evil Dead: Army of Darkness.” How can you not, Bruce Campbell utters so many memorable one liners in that movie that it has been indelibly seared into my brain for all time.
“Good, bad, I’m the guy with the gun.”
