Zombie General Discussions / How do the zombies Dance
« on: September 26, 2012, 06:05:00 AM »
I'm bringing this up because I can't get it out of my head, so the rest of you get to suffer with the thought.

We've seen that the Thriller zombies can truely bust a move, but what about the rest of them.

How do you think the Romero zombies would react if someone put on some music?
How do you think the more intelligent ones would react? - Would they ignore the music and continue to look for those sweet sweet brains or would they make sure no one was looking then dance like it wasn't the apocalyse?

I have this vision of Moon... I see him shaking his groove thing in a cross between Bill Cosby and the computerized 'Dancing Baby'.  Lovecraft and Romy are standing as far away from him as possible looking terribly embarassed.

My eldest daughter made a little paper TV for the Papercraft zombies to watch...
I asked why?
She replied: So they won't be bored or eat people.

The Thousand Islands gives plenty of options for places. Some of the bigger islands for farming and livestock. they are fairly close to me, if my country getaway fails that is option 2.
I wouldn't know how to do a geothermal or hydrodam to get electricity that way so it would have to be solar panels maybe wind turbines as well.
Just have to figure out walls or maybe something to keep the zombies from splashing over.

Semi is a good idea you can carry lots of gear if you get a trailer... and you can always turn that trailer into living quarters too. Which was my original idea for the zombpocalypse, but I don't know how to fix the damn things.
My buddy used to have one for his Dad's company. We did measurements once on the trailer to see what we could fit in there.. Raised beds that you need a ladder to get to.. then pull the ladder up as a wall to keep you from falling out or zombies getting up if they manage to break in... Buddy had some good ideas for the doors so unlikely.
Now I look back and think might as well just get a big RV and put a plow on the front to knock away the zombies... Course those RVs and Semi's are big and don't turn easy. A traffic jam will screw ya... The walking dead shows that well enough.

Zombie General Discussions / Cars and Zombies
« on: October 27, 2011, 04:16:44 PM »
So I was driving home tonight with the wife and got to see a cyclist down on the ground. His bike got bumped by a teen driver and knocked him off (No damage to Bike or Biker). Now I agree scary and I am not putting any blame on either of them for the accident, but what happened next made me realize that a car is definitely not safe to be in during a zombie attack. Why you ask?

Well the cyclist got up and went Hulk on the car punching and kicking the front hood and grill, then went to the drivers side and took out the drivers window in no time flat. The cyclist was average build and the window was gone like that... if he was a zombie the teens inside would have been lunch.

Moral for Motorists? - Watch where you are driving at all times there are others sharing the road with you.
Moral for Cyclists? - pay attention to those big metal things that could run you down. This is my Dad's rule. (my dad got nailed by a drunk driver once while biking and attained flight for 30 feet, I try to learn from my Dad's mistakes so I don't fly in anything other than a plane.)
Moral for Motorists in the zompocalypse? - Armor up those windows if you are planning on driving around.

might have to check this... maybe he starts off nice before he goes insane. Would make the whole thing sadder in the end... guy was still a jackass in the end.

Paranoia and germ phobias I think would be the biggies... I'd be doubly worried about protecting my daughters. I'd abandon my home pretty damn quick and head for my sisters place. As my brother in law says "When the Zombie apocalyse happens get over here, We've got a special forces guy living down the block (cool guy) and a gun enthusiast (cool guy) who does shooting competitions each weekend, huge gun collection."
My response is OK so this is stop #1. Stop #2 is more north, but this would be a good staging area to do some raids in town... screw that forage for supplies crap.. it's a raid.

Now they got it right. Teach the kids young how to kill the undead.  That would have been a kindergarten class to go to.

Heh, this is why I keep a hammer and wrench in my bathroom under the sink... just in case I need to make a repair I mean, not that I am trying to be prepared for the zombie apocalypse.

Zombies in Movies, Books, etc... / Re: Rec & Rec 2
« on: September 09, 2011, 07:37:07 AM »
I have now watched Rec 2 and Quarantine 2.

I like Rec 2 more. It runs a Swat team through the same apartment building to try to find the previous group sent in. No airports no offsite locations. I watched it with subtitles and really liked it. I tried it with the movie The Hoard and enjoyed it more than the english dubbing. Sets up for a Rec 3 moving beyond the apartment building. I'd give it 5 out of 5.

Q2 picks up on a plane and ends in an airport. The link to the first movie was ok, but I felt there were too many "Aw come on..." moments. Set up for a Q3 is ok. I'd give it a 3 out of 5.

Gonna watch Rec and Rec 2 back to back tonight.
