I cannot be the only one who has this fantasy every time I use a self checkout.  I refuse to believe that.

Also… I really do wish I was Indiana Jones.  But not from the fourth movie, that movie sucked.

A zombie ex-wife is way more scary than a live one because it combines the relentless endurance of the zombie with the terrifying cannibalistic evil of an ex-wife.  The combination is so potent it has been known to drive lesser men to madness.

I’ve been looking for a way to bring Lovecraft’s ex-wife Sheila back into the comic.  I’ve given her character a slight art upgrade, but I assure you she is still very very dangerous.

This is where I always feel compelled to put a disclaimer.

To my own e-wife’s legal team:
The zombie character Sheila is in no way based on your client.  Any behavior similar to that allegedly perpetrated by your client is entirely coincidental.

For example if the character Sheila should say try to kill her ex-husband by throwing a snow globe at his head it would be purely coincidental to the time your client tried to kill me by throwing a snow globe at my head.  Also when Sheila hears crazy voices that tell her to do things…. painful erratic things, this should also be considered coincidental to your own client’s inner voices making her do painful erratic bahavior.

There is no need to sue me or get litigious in any way.  Besides I don’t have any money anyway.

Sorry for no comic today, got a bit overwhelmed with freelance work again and couldn’t finish it in time. It’ll be there Friday though and promises to be awesome.

In the meantime, check this out. I am a huge fan of zombie comedies. This is a pretty good trailer I found I’ll have to track this movie down.

“A Little Bit Zombie” synopsis

Infected by a virus during his bachelor party, a mild mannered HR manager attempts to fulfill his overwhelming desire for brains and avoid Max, the obsessed Zombie Hunter hot on his trail. All while keeping it together so as not to incur the wrath of his Bridezilla-to-be.

Brad Pitt’s costar on the set, James Badge, let the rumor drop.

“That book [the flick is based on the best-selling tome of the same name] is such a thick dense book of so many socio- and political and economic views that says a lot about us as people,”

“So I think we’d like to make 18 more World War Z’s and we’d still have more material because it’s an ongoing story.”

While I’m all for having a epic zombie trilogy to rival “The Lord of The Rings” some of the choices being made are upsetting the diehard fans of the novel. For one thing the novel is very episodic in nature and told in a series of flashbacks. The movie plot seams to be changed to follow Brad Pitt’s character as he tries to fight the growing zombie threat.  That’s a pretty big change.

Look I’ll be honest here, That is a GOOD change. I loved the novel, it was great, but any story told as flashbacks immediately loses a tremendous amount of tension. You already know how it’s going to end up for the most part. That’s not to say that can’t still be done well, I read a lot of H.P. Lovecraft and most of his stories are told that way, with the main character telling you what has already happened. The novel is great, but it’s hard to make a movie like that.

Here you can see some actual filming for the movie, which brings me to the next thing die hard fans are complaining about.

Fast Zombies

Max Brooks, the author of the novel, is on record as not being a fan of them and you can clearly see the zombies being pretty dang lively in the above clip.  Again I’m going to break with the purists here and say I love fast zombies. I like slow zombies too, but they don’t make me wet my pants and curl up in the fetal position. Fast zombies may not have the slow macabre dread of the original George Romero pop culture zombie, but let’s be honest, they are scarier to face overall.

Who knows how much control Brooks has over what goes on in the filming of his novel. I’m guessing not a lot.  I have no idea whether “World War Z” will do well at the box office or not, but I’m keeping hope alive. Really good zombie movies are few and far between.

Change the music and suddenly a horrifying series about the zombie apocalypse becomes a heart warming family sitcom.

I’m going to sit my little kids down and have them watch “The Walking Dead” now. I think they’re ready.

I love the idea that even after the zombie apocalypse comes, “life” pretty much goes on as normal for my little undead characters.

Zombies should have to keep working, pay taxes and rent, and behave normally. Of course periodically they can attack some lowly survivor to keep things interesting.

Got a little bit copy and pasty with this comic which I don’t normally like doing, but I’m out of time this weekend so this is the best I could do. Sorry about that.

Zombie fighting technology marches on. Now you can get a zombie fighting chainsaw to atach to your gun as a bayonet…. That’s great, I guess.

Look I hate the chainsaw as a zombie fighting tool. Sure it makes you look awesome and makes you feel like more of a man, but they just aren’t practical.

Chainsaws are.
1. Noisy They are just going to draw more zombies to you.
2. Chainsaws are heavy and slow. Unless you are built like a linebacker or possibly a crazy cannibal from Texas you are going to be getting real slow real quick.
3. Fuel is going to be pretty hard to come by during a zombie apocalypse.
4. Does the idea of getting splattered by tonnes of possibly infectious zombie blood and juices sound like a good idea to you. That’s a messy weapon. One drop of zombie juice gets in your eye and you’ve had it.

It may look cool in the movies and in this video clip, but the chainsaw is a no go for zombies. Try a hammer, seams like a better option. Just my opinion of course.
