Sorry guys, ran out of time this weekend for making a comic. This irritates the crap out of me as I’ve been doing pretty dang good at maintaining my update schedule…. Really irritates me.
What messed me up. Upgrading my computer of course! I decided to tackle putting in a new motherboard and processor, and hilarity ensued. Well this thing is working so I guess I don’t suck completely, though I did something to the sound that I’ll have to figure out. The upgrade was necessary though as my files have been getting larger and larger and more computer taxing as a result.
But since I didn’t want to let you down in the entertaining department I found two awesome zombie videos for you check out. These were pretty dang cool actually. Anyway enjoy and normal zombie comic silliness will resume Wednesday.
If you’ve read any of my comics you’ll quickly realize why I love the casual way this film shows people handling the zombie apocalypse. This cracks me up immensely so I had to share it of course.
The reference to zombies committing suicide has me thinking of some comics to write. Disturbing humor is kinda what I like.
“A Dead Issue” is very similar in tone to “Fido” which is another zombie film I’d highly recommend.
First preview of AMC’s The Walking Dead Season 3. Finally we’re away from the farm and headed for the prison. Judging by the state of the characters in this clip you can tell things will be bloody and there will be very little time to shower when facing relentless hordes of the undead.
Season 3 of The Walking Dead promises to be pretty dark, and it looks like The Governor is confirmed to be in this season. Sooooo that’s positive. Also is anyone else weirded out when they hear Rick Grimes with a British Accent. Not that British guys can’t be tough (James Bond), but it’s not what I expect. Weird, it’s like having Harry Potter fight zombies.
Holy crap I would love to have a movie with Harry Potter fighting the zombie apocalypse. Get on that AMC!
Anyway, enough of that, lets get to the preview of AMC’s “The Walking Dead Season 3″
Spoiler is a short zombie film that is more than worth your time to watch. This short zombie film was simply amazing, original, and incredibly gut wrenching.
In an amazingly short time the film makers show some of the ways people have had to adapt to the horrible reality of a zombie plague. This was really well done and doesn’t follow the tired conventions of your standard zombie apocalypse movie. This was less about the horror of the zombie plague and more about the tragedy of the situation.
Incredibly well acted and moody, this short zombie film is really sticking with me. This zombie film is well worth your precious eyeball time.
The Frankenweenie Trailer looks awesome and I can’t wait to show it to my kids in my ongoing quest to make them tiny copies of ME. Soon they will appreciate the weird and slightly macabre madness of Tim Burton. I love that stuff.
Directed by Tim Burton, Frankenweenie is scheduled for a October 5th 2012 release date. It looks like this black and white stop motion animation is a remake of Tim Burton’s 1984 version of Frankenweenie. I would imagine just with better filming techniques and some better CGI.
Plot:
After the death of his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring him back to life(Zombie DOG!). Victor tries to hide his creation, but Sparky gets out and causes havoc in the town.
This is an homage to the movie Frankenstein 1931, and I know I’ll take heat from zombie “Purists” out their when I say Frankenstein’s monster is a zombie and therefore Frankenweenie is a zombie dog. Come on, People! This goes under the category of “The Constructed” zombie type if ever I saw one.
This Paranorman Trailer looks like really great stop motion animation and a fun zombie comedy. I really liked the movie Caroline and this is made by the same people so I have high hopes that this will be a great film.
I’m a huge fan stop motion animation, but I’d really like to see a behind the scenes look at how this was done. How much of it was done with traditional stop motion techniques and how much is computer generated graphics.
At least the zombie designs look pretty good. And Check out the rockin poster below.
The stop motion zombies look great. I can only hope that they don’t do Paranorman in 3D as I’m getting terribly sick of 3D. I’m not buying anymore of those stupid glasses. 3D graphics looked moderately okay on Caroline, but the problem is they direct the focus of what you’re looking at. A couple viewings of a movie and I just like to check out the background art. With a 3d movie that’s going to give you a raging headache and since I wear glasses they are a major pain to get on my glorious head.
Also It’s also nice to see supernatural zombies for a change, I’m pretty damned sick of viral zombies and I don’t think viral zombie lend themselves well to a zombie comedy. For some reason horrible diseases that turn people into the living dead just don’t strike people as funny.
Now necromancy and curses, that’s comedy gold! If I could raise the dead I’d do it in a heartbeat.
Paranorman Trailer. Norman, better known as Para Norman is a misunderstood and weird boy who can speak with the dead, takes on ghosts, zombies and grown-ups to save his town from a centuries-old curse. ParaNorman is LAIKA’s follow-up to their Oscar nominated Coraline. Coming August 2012.
