Daily Zombie Drawing

More daily zombie drawing or more to the point semi-daily drawings. I need to get back to these. I do these zombie drawings on toned paper with black prisma color pencils and white ink. There fun and I’ve gotten pretty dang fast at them.  I do these at conventions now and end up doing so many zombie drawings that by the end of the con my arm is killing me.  I take that as a good sign.  Also a sign that I should work out more… or possibly at all.

I drew this zombie drawing while waiting at Night Flight Comics.  I looked out the window and couldn’t help but notice this lady walking by.   She would probably punch me if she knew I drew her as a horrible undead monster.  Thankfully she doesn’t know where I live.

This daily zombie drawing is totally a self portrait.  Notice my rugged and manly physique and my devilish good looks.  Even my conversion to zombiism cannot hide that I am a truly good look’n man.  You see I have no intention of just becoming a simple run of the mill zombie during the zombpocalypse… oh no.  I plan on being and epic zombie boss who crushes mere mortals with a single swipe of my meaty decaying hands.

That’s why I’m taking steroids.
(This is what I tell myself so that I don’t curl up in the fetal position again weeping silently to myself…. Thank you for not pointing out I’m full of crap)

Daily Zombie Drawings 4

More Daily Zombie Drawings from yours truly.  These three zombie drawings are again part of my project to start each day with a warm up drawing for the comic strip.

The stack of zombie drawings I’ve got on hand is starting to actually add up to something.  I’ve thought about what to do with them, I think I’ll take these to cons with me and see if there’s any interest in purchasing them at my table.  I’ve seen other artists doing things like that so that makes me feel slightly less mercenary about that

These are again done using prismacolor pencils on toned paper.  I got myself a new white marker from the craft store that puts down a flood of white.  I’d be happy about that except the solvent for the color gives me a bit of a headache.

Zombie Drawings - Pretty girl zombie drawing

Periodically I like to draw an attractive zombie.  That generally means zombie cleavage, which of course I’m a huge fan of.  Sure I take a certain amount of heat from friends and family for drawing zombies this way, but come on!… If Stephanie Myer can write about vampires that glitter in the sun instead of frying like a marshmallow I should be able to draw zombies that are kinda hot.

This is a self portrait of me as a zombie.  Note the extremely happy face.  That’s because being a zombie is possibly going to be awesome!  I like to think positive.  Most people focus on surviving the zombie apocalypse.  I don’t really understand that.  Chances are you’re gonna die.  Lets focus on your new life as one of the relentless dead forever hungering for the flesh of the living.  Sound good!  I thought so.

This is a fun old man zombie I drew and for no reason at all I stuck mushrooms growing out of his head.  It’s that little bit of disgusting attention to detail that makes a good zombie drawing.  Just my opinion though.

Daily Zombie Drawing 3

My Daily Zombie Drawing project continues.  I’ve been drawing these zombies and posting them up on Twitter and Facebook.  If you’d like to keep seeing them feel free to subscribe to me.

My goal for these drawings is speed, If I’m going to get this zombie comic up to five updates a week I’ve got to draw faster… Much faster.  So none of these drawings are allowed to be over ten minutes long.  It’s good practice for cons as well.  When I went to Horrorcon I ended up drawing from the moment I got there to the moment I went to sleep that night.  That’s awesome, but I’m hoping for the next convention to be able to draw fast enough that I’ll be able to lift my head up occasionally.

These zombie drawings are done on toned paper with Prismacolor pencil and highlighted with a white marker and a white gel pen.  Since for the most part the comic is pretty silly it’s nice to draw something with teeth (That’s a pun kids).

Daily Zombie Drawing #2

The daily zombie drawing is up for your enjoyment/grossness.  Again I drew this zombie on toned paper using a black prismacolor pencil and a white marker for the highlights.  Also this particular zombie is a self-portrait.

I drew this zombie while staring into a mirror and making funny faces all to the amused giggling of my tiny redheaded daughter.

For some reason when I’m drawing myself as a zombie without a face that doesn’t traumatize my kids.  I choose to believe that’s because I’ve raised them right and I’m slowly desensitizing them to the horrors of the coming zombie apocalypse.

This will come in handy as when your family is frozen in terror as the zombie approach you and take you down, my kids will be beating them over the head with a shovel and then we’ll be going on a picnic.

That’s how we roll.
