Sorry for the lack of posts, I got a last minute table at “Life the Universe and Everything in Orem, Utah and I’ve been there soaking up the geekiness.

Well sort of geeky, this con is more tailored to aspiring writers than general nerd fandom. I’ve been on two panels so far: “Surviving the zombie apocalypse” and “How to layout your comic and make it look good”

Apparently it went so well that a shaft of heavenly light descended upon me and all in the room could here a chorus of angels chanting my name. I always enjoy it when that happens.

Also I’m very sleep deprived and possibly could have imagined that last part.

The further this went the more I laughed. Kind of a dead on (pun intended) commentary on today’s culture.

Coincidentally I just joined Twitter, follow me for useless advice and the glorious nonsense that spews from my diseased brain…. If you want.

You’ll have to forgive the cut and paste on today’s comic, got home super late and this was the only way to get the comic out before I collapsed in a boneless heap of sleepy despair.

Holy crap I am tired.  I really need to work harder on getting a buffer so I don’t have anymore of these late nights.

On the plus side we’ll get to see the character Sheila and her (Cough) assets (cough cough) for a while.  You’d be surprised how many requests I get to bring her back to the comic strip… I’m almost up to double digits!

I hope to exercise some of my own personal demons with Sheila’s appearance in the strip….. I have so many that it may take a while.  Isn’t it fun to be emotionally scarred kids?…. for life.

Would you describe these as mutants or zombies…. possibly zombie mutants?  No really, I’m asking.

Not all zombies are the pop culture/George Romero zombie.  In fact I’d have to say I’m more in favor of the other types of zombies myself.  Zombification through parasites or supernatural forces are far more interesting to me than the “Done to Death” viral zombies.

Whatever’s going on with these poor mutant/zombies sure seams to have a Lovecraftian bent to it.  I thoroughly approve and I’ll put this on my list of must check out movies.

Dead Shadows tells the terrifying story about a young man, Chris, whose parents were brutally killed 11 years ago, on the same day that tHaley’s Comet could be seen from earth.  Tonight, a new comet is going to appear and everyone in his building are getting ready for a party to celebrate the event. There’s even an apocalypse theory going around. As the night falls, Chris starts to discover that people are acting strange – and it seems to somehow be connected to the comet. People are becoming disoriented and violent and it doesn’t take long before they start mutating into something from beyond this world. In a fight for survival, Chris has to try to escape from his building with the help from some other tenants – but will they make it out alive?

 

I cannot be the only one who has this fantasy every time I use a self checkout.  I refuse to believe that.

Also… I really do wish I was Indiana Jones.  But not from the fourth movie, that movie sucked.

A zombie ex-wife is way more scary than a live one because it combines the relentless endurance of the zombie with the terrifying cannibalistic evil of an ex-wife.  The combination is so potent it has been known to drive lesser men to madness.

I’ve been looking for a way to bring Lovecraft’s ex-wife Sheila back into the comic.  I’ve given her character a slight art upgrade, but I assure you she is still very very dangerous.

This is where I always feel compelled to put a disclaimer.

To my own e-wife’s legal team:
The zombie character Sheila is in no way based on your client.  Any behavior similar to that allegedly perpetrated by your client is entirely coincidental.

For example if the character Sheila should say try to kill her ex-husband by throwing a snow globe at his head it would be purely coincidental to the time your client tried to kill me by throwing a snow globe at my head.  Also when Sheila hears crazy voices that tell her to do things…. painful erratic things, this should also be considered coincidental to your own client’s inner voices making her do painful erratic bahavior.

There is no need to sue me or get litigious in any way.  Besides I don’t have any money anyway.

Sorry for no comic today, got a bit overwhelmed with freelance work again and couldn’t finish it in time. It’ll be there Friday though and promises to be awesome.

In the meantime, check this out. I am a huge fan of zombie comedies. This is a pretty good trailer I found I’ll have to track this movie down.
