When your ex is crazy, it’s never a good idea to tick her/him off without reason. I know this, having an ex of my own.
Thankfully in my case I’m able to easily avoid my ex-wife as the cacophony of shrieking voices in her head are so loud that it gives me ample time to escape before she draws near.
It’s funny because it’s true.
As for poor Lovecraft, even should his quest for mortality pan out, he’s likely to lose it quickly when his ex catches up with him. I can’t wait.

But if she took up those hobbies and became normal you wouldn’t love her as much. It’s a conundrum.
I said it would help,not make her normal. She’d need to do every normal hobby imaginable everyday all day in order to be “normal.”
