So I come home the other day and my son is wearing his hat off to the side… Like a goof. I’m pretty sure a piece of me died inside when he did it as I realized that I’m old now.
Old enough that kids fashions drive me nuts. This makes me sad… and old. It’s a viscous cycle.
Don’t think of yourself as “old” – think of yourself as “classic.” You’ve burned away all the “goof” stuff of your youth and kept the stuff that’s really important. AND you have enough experience to know the difference.
Also, you have a wealth of secret knowledge your kids are completely blank on, like shorthand, how to english a pinball machine, and why that beta tape won’t fit in the VCR. You can remember what the Milky Way looks like. So keep some perspective. And get off my lawn!

Well I am old enough to know that Han shot first and that in the movie “E.T.” those weren’t walkie talkies those were guns. I don’t know how useful that is, but it’s something.

Exactly. Hats have a function dagnabbit, caps are no exception. The hood part is meant to keep the sun out of your eyes. Heck even having it backwards is acceptable since it can shade your neck if you are working outside with the sun to your back.
I agree. I can see someone with their hat backwards and not think much about it, but I see someone with their hat tilted to the side and I instantly think that they’re a dumbass.
