There is no actual reason that zombies shouldn’t feel pain, in fact in “Return of the Living Dead” the whole reason that the zombies are attacking humans and eating their brains is that brain eating stops the “Pain of being dead.”
In that series of movies it really really really hurts to be a zombie…. That’s got to suck.
The whole movie is all about how immoral humans really are. Put a human in a little bit of pain and boom right to eating someones brains. not one zombie considers hey maybe this is a bad thing and I should just completely destroy myself instead of killing another person. And before you say “hey wait that one guy jumped into the furnace” well he wasn’t a zombie yet was he? (That is a real question… I haven’t watched the movie in years and can’t remember)
Always wondered how the zombies in that movie figured out that the brains would help with the pain…
How do they figure that out? They just pop out of the ground thinking. …. Pfft! Tylenol! That’s not going to cover this headache. I’m going to have to crack open someone’s noggin and scoop out a handful of painkillers.
It really doesn’t make a lick of sense. I still love the movie though.
I think they might have tried eating other human parts first. That’s why in some movies the zombies just bite or tear at any part instead of going straight for the brain. The smarter or older ones just aim for the head.
I loved that movie.
The sequels get progressively worse sadly, But the firs one is really good.
I have watched it at least twice a year for the past twenty or so years. It’s a sickness.

I really think my professors could do that to certain people in the class room… On aside note that movie was really weird all I remember from it is the tar zombie, the furnace, the dick boyfriend, and I dont think the head thing worked in that show. I mean they dismembered a zombie and he still woudlnt die… creepy
It’s most likely that the “pain of being dead” is the only pain a NotLD zombie can feel, since so many of them previously had their brains chomped, so certainly wouldn’t have enough of a nervous system to feel pain.
It was likely more of a “fundamental” pain.
And RotLD 2 was awesome sauce!

Well I would have just said a dead cat, but he’s a zombie so I might as well try to make it make some sense.
He’s also a very accomplished piano player… How tragic that he’ll never play again. So sad.
