Necromancy And It’s Delightfully Painful Consequences
on January 26, 2011 at 5:00 amIf everything went according to plans when practicing the forbidden arts of Necromancy there would be far fewer zombie movies and of those the body counts would be depressingly more manageable. And where’s the fun in that?
It’s always preferable and more entertaining when something goes horribly wrong and squishy things hit the fan.
I’m kind of proud of the way today’s little zombie webcomic came out. I put way more effort into making this one than usual and the expression on my cuddly little Necronomicon character gives me the giggles (In a very manly way BTW). One of the main reasons for this comic in the first place is to try to continually get better at cartooning and art in general so I try to do a little better with every comic I make.
I’m pretty satisfied with this one. It makes me happy and, temporarily at least, keeps the nagging self-doubt and crushing depression at bay for at least one more day.

Although I did not predict it attacking Moon, at least I got the coming to life part right.
Oh come now, predicting the Necrocommunicon coming to life is like predicting that the new president is going to be as useless as the last, or that if a film is made out of a book, it will be sucky at best.
He got one other important thing pretty dang close. It’s not a secret, especially if you visit the cast page, but I’ve been waiting for an excuse to add a certain “old one” every once in while to the strip.
I was just happy with the shadow on the wall effect. I had no idea how to do that when I started this one. Looks pretty decent I think.
For a tomb of all necromantic evils, it sure as hell seems thin. So is that the abridged version I presume?
Also….I was going to say something witty, smart and clever. But then I got distracted by the awesomeness that is the smell of bacon….mmmm bacon….
Bacon is awesome, I won’t lie, it has distracted me on multiple occasions.
The cartoon version is actually thicker than the one I made for fun. I should make another one. Make a really huge one for fun.
