The Wasted: The Toxic Waste Zombie Type
on October 1, 2010 at 5:00 amThe Wasted: The Toxic Waste Zombie Type
The latest in my Zombies Defined comic series.
To be honest I expect the three types of Chemical zombies to have the most arguments about them.
Look most people aren’t chemists, myself included, and I can see how it could be argued that there is not enough to differentiate the three types of zombies here in my list.
To show a difference between the chemical subtypes of zombie I think you have to go with what the chemical/drugs were intended for.
Chemical Zombies
- Pharmaceutical (These were drugs intended to help humans….. instead…. oh crap! zombies!)
- Toxic/Medical Waste (Discarded waste material that spontaneously raises the dead…. somehow)
- Misc. Chemicals (Compounds that revive the dead as a side affect)
For the record the only chemical I really care about is sweet sweet caffeine.
I love you Caffeine.
If you were a woman I’d marry you… ah hell, even if you were a dude… and an ugly dude at that.
Don’t you judge me! Who are you to deny our love?

So where exactly do the Resident Evil Zombies fall in?
Resident Evil zombies are caused by the “T” virus, so they would be the Pathogen zombie type.
Except in Resident Evil 4 (Video Game) I believe the zombies were caused by a parasite “Las Plagues” or something like that. That would qualify those zombies as the parasite/symbiotic zombie type.
Somebody correct me if I’m wrong.
This is my favorite, That going to be me or the cursed or maybe a tank no no i want to be a witch, wait wait i want to be a jockey because i like to ride people that crazy
Mmhm, you are right on Las Plagas Carter. Played through 4 myself and there are at least a dozen times when you kill a zombie only to have the mature parasite pop out of it’s head and keep the Ganado (cattle in Spanish it seems) going or jump out and attack you on it’s own.
Hmm, so 28 Days later zombies would fall under the pharmaceuticals I take it?
No I think the 28 days zombies are caused by the “Rage” virus. That would put them under the “Pathogen” zombie type.
Currently among film makers that’s the most popular type.
Hmm, I going to guess that that barrel is filled with 50% toxic waste, 50% alcohol.
I think it’s safe to say that feral ghouls from the Fallout series would fit under this category.
I HATE THOSE DAMNED GHOULS! For some reason they scare me.
Except that the ghouls in fallout aren’t exposed to toxins, they’ve been exposed to “Ungodly” amounts of radiation.
I think that would qualify them for Energy Zombies. And that’s only if you call them zombies instead of just mutants.
And don’t forget that if you have the Broken Steel DLC you go up against the Reavers, which are the equivalent of like twenty regular ghouls. So many bad memories of running for my virtual life or being completely screwed over by the things.
I just got the Broken Steel DLC. Now I’m afraid.
I know this isn’t going to help your fear but you should also be on the look out for Super mutant Overlords and Albino Rad-scorpions. ALL THREE ARE EVILLY POWERFUL! Make sure you have a powerful gun on you at all time now.
