Seriously though, I don’t go to the theater anymore. Every time I do, I walk funny for the next few days and I feel used. Attn: Hollywood, either lower your prices or this is one zombie in the making who is not giving you people my money.
Dude, movies cost one average ticket price depending where/how it’s shown (3D, IMAX, drive-in, etc.). Concession prices are set by the theater, so all concession revenue go the the theater owner, not the studios….unless, of course, the studio owns the theater venue.
The sad part is that today if I want to go to the theater it will cost me my first born… I only have one of those.
I guess I could start kidnapping the neighborhood children and lie about them being my first born. That’ll work. Movies here I come!

I hear ya on those movie tickets man, last movie my wife went to was $48 (iirc) just for my wife & parents, my 12yo daughter, and 8yo son to get in. That was premier night for the sparkly vampire movie New Moon (real vampires don’t sparkle damit). I found it’s just cheaper to wait for the DVD/Blue Ray to come out ($18-$24 usually). Then you can share it with your family and friends.

I mean, I know there’s no free lunches out there and everyone’s got to make a living, but “They” (whomever they may be) have currently made it too pricey to go to the theater for me. I used to go all the time.
Now I just wait for the DVD and watch at home, cheaper, and I can watch any time I want as many times as I want. Plus the DVD often has extras that I’m interested in. I think Hollywood thinks 3D is whats going to draw people to the theaters, maybe. But not for me, I didn’t feel 3d added anything to my movie experience except a mild headache.
Man torrenting is the way to go, no waiting in lines, no smelly, sticky seats, no ads. HOWEVER IT IS ILLEGAL AND I NEVER DO IT EVER I SWEAR. But come on james cameron has indavertantly made more than some small countries. Avatar made $1B in weeks, thats just the movie, lets not even talk about games, ads, endorsments, happymeals, the works. There was a news story about a special needs teen going to the movies and after watching it he wanted to see it again, but didn’t have money to. So naturally when he was told that he couldn’t he through a fit , like most autistic people do, and the cops restrained him and beat him to death. America what has it come to? People being beaten because of $7.50. And that kinda hits really close with my family because my brother is autistic, so we try to do different activities that involve working with special needs children, like my brother plays on a special needs baseball league and I help with it. So after hearing that I started to hate discriminative people even more.

Nah it’s fine. There is still discrimination against people who have any mental problems.
Both my daughter and I are diagnosed “High functioning Autistic/Asbergers” whatever that means these days.
I control it with lots of Prozac. I love that stuff, for me at least it’s a miracle drug.
