Deadite or Viral Zombie? What kind of Zombpocalypse is this?

That’s a very good question. What kind of Zombpocalypse is this? Viral, Bacterial, Demonic Deadite possesion, maybe even a parasite?
So many delightful ways of bringing society to it’s knees, but I haven’t really specified how it’s going down in my very own webcomic. Well it’s not really a secret, the zombpocalypse in “The Zombie Nation” is caused by…….

funny, I was just thinking about the different kind of causes of zombpocalypse. Seems the most popular these days are the viral mutation type. Mad cow (zombie land), cure for cancer (I am legend), manufactured bio warfare weapon (Resident evil), flu(left for dead), flesh eating virus(dawn of the dead?). I guess because the idea of a viral mutation is the most plausible due to how fast it can spread and how the mass majority of humanity can and will become infected. Though of course in the past we have had the spiritual cause of zombies, but because if the soul could return tot he body after death, the zombie wouldn’t be a mindless creature after your brains or bent on killing you. I did always enjoy the magical summoning of the dead type of zombies. Because you had someone or thing that controlled them and it of course gave hope of stopping the zombpocalypse and returning the world to normal. A fiend of mine, a much older man, he works in film and he was actually one of the original zombies in the original Night of the living dead. If I remember right, he said he was one of the zombies that was clotheslined in the film.
One of my fav things to see is the zombie walks and at least one guy dressed as Jesus. I’m supprised you haven’t drawn something like that.
I always favored the supernatural zombie… With viral zombies you can make some assumptions about how it’s going to behave, rot, spread, ect…
But with a supernatural zombie, all bets are off and it’s pretty much whatever the writer has a whim to do. Could make them super strong, unkillable, fly, purple, whatever you want.
Viral zombies get more attention these days, because I think it’s more believable to the popular culture. That and we’re afraid of plagues and terrorist attacks more than ever before.
It’s an interesting subject, and makes for good debate.
have you heard of the graphic novel web comic called Last blood? http://lastblood.keenspot.com/ Has vampires, all of humanity save 24 people are zombies, so about 6.5 BILLION zombies caused by supernatural reasons. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. Though updates are rare and far between.
I’ve read through that series, pretty good I thought. They kind of completed it, that’s when it really slowed down, the Crosby guy who writes it has been trying to get it made into a movie.
He posted something where it had been optioned, but weather that equals movie deal or not, I couldn’t say.
I check back every few months hoping they’ll start doing regular updates again.
Ever heard of area 52. Rumer is that it is trying to basically create zombies, so that if a soldier dies while fighting it can be brought back to life. Also, one of their expirements was crazy and tried to bitr people. So, thank you government for killing us all.
